A Helping Hand 

Earlier this year my dear friend, Holly, got a breast cancer diagnosis. She has had surgery & although they got all the cancer out she has had some setbacks with her insurance/doctor. Dan McCoy & the Standing 8s to play Seger's "Live Bullet" 

Sept. 22 is fast approaching & you may say to yourself, "So what? That day has no significance." Oh, but it does my friend. That is the night the lads in the 8s & I will be playing Bob Seger's classic "Live Bullet" album in its entirety! It's going to be a great night of rock & roll that you won't want to miss. The locale is Beal's Pickles & Pints in Willoughby, OH. I'm also excited to announce we have an opener for that show. Parker Rieke will be doing a half hour solo acoustic set. Get there early & see what this young man is bringing to the table. Come on out!

 

Thank you to my supporters for fighting cancer! 

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that donated to my Velosano ride (that happened this past Saturday). This year I rode in honor of my dear friend Holly Suchland who will be having surgery this Friday. Thanks to your generosity I was able to raise $1500 for cancer research at the Cleveland Clinic. The DTW Songwriter Showcases are quickly becoming a hit! This month's guests are Kevin Conaway & Seth Ohm. Here's the scoop...

 

Kevin Conaway is an ASCAP-registered singer/songwriter with several hours-worth of original material. Kevin draws a lot of influence from alternative rock bands and artists such as Toad the Wet Sprocket, Oasis, Jimmy Eat World, Howie Day, and Guster, along with just a touch of classic and progressive rock influence from bands like Pink Floyd and Porcupine Tree. With a combination of intelligent lyrics, strong melodies, and infectious hooks, Kevin crafts songs that are bound to be stuck in your head long after hearing them.

 

Seth Ohm Band is story telling at its finest. North East Ohio raised, Seth spins stories of the journey of life, love and finding oneself. He bears all he is thinking and feeling, yet leaves room for interpretation. There are two versions of the band. The southern rock band (Seth Ohm Band, SOB) and the acoustic band (Seth Ohm Band Acoustic Experience, SOBae).
