New Year, New Single

Happy New Year everyone! Hope 2021 is starting off better for you than where you left off in 2020. My new single, Young As I Am Today will be available Friday, January 22, 2021 on all digital platforms. The song is a collaboration between my long time writing partner & Rambler 454 band mate Tim Brennan (no, not the guy from Dropkick Murphys). I recorded the song at the Earnest Tube in Brisol, VA with Dave Polster & Clint Holley doing the recording, mixing & mastering. I worked with Dave in the past on the Live & Alone album, Believe single, My Love single and Clint on the Journeyman album. Enjoy!

Review of the song Introductions

Jon Wright of radioairplay.com had this to say about our song Introductions...

Overall Impression:
Danny McCoy artfully implements soulful Rock energies in a sonic exploration of new interactions with his original song, Introductions!  Lyrically capturing the thrill of hopeful possibility that motivates so many of us to venture out into the weekend social scene, McCoy's Roots Rock sound brings the essence of the experience to full life, with passionate vocals and bright sax work making Introductions an engaging and surprisingly reflective track!

Strongest Point(s):
The totality of McCoy's sound hearkens back to other legends of the Roots Rock sound, masterfully blending the bold and bright energies of the style with a realistic tone of awareness.  Lyrically, Introductions nails the ethos of the bar scene - from the narrator's perspective of seeking a connection to the reflection upon various categories and characteristics of the humans present. Well-mixed and written from a place of experience and enthusiasm and clever observation, Introductions is and instant classic!

Target Audience Appeal:
Any person with experience in the wilds of social scenes will resonate deeply with Danny McCoy's lyrical wit while the tone and style of Introductions stands to connect with fans of that fully classic, deeply engaging Roots Rock sound - making the track a great candidate for pre-game playlists and live dive venues alike! - Jon W.

Artist target suggestions:
Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp, Bob Seger, Tom Petty, Meat Loaf, Billy Joel, Van Morrison, Uncle Tupelo, Rod Stewart, Joe Walsh, Steve Earle, Drive-By Truckers, Blue Mountain, Patterson Hood, Counting Crows

Mullarkey's Workers Relief Fund

Mullarkey's Irish Pub in downtown Willoughby, OH has been my "home base" for music the last 17 or 18 years. Like a lot of people the owners & workers were hit very hard financially when the state of Ohio was shut down. PPP funds are currently unavailable so in an effort to help those that have helped me over the years I will be doing a Facebook live stream fundraiser on Saturday, May 9 at 7pm. Send me a friend request on Facebook or like my page (Dan McCoy-Singer/Songwriter) to tune in. A GoFundMe page has been set up so if you'd like to donate you can do so by following the link below. Thank you in advance!
